Prevention of Sexual Harassment Policy

he Maldives Capacity Development and Governance Institute MCDGI is committed to creating a healthy working environment that enables employees to work without fear from sexual harassment. Sexual harassment at the workplace or other than the work place is a grave offence and is, therefore, punishable.

The MCDGI will operate a zero-tolerance policy for any form of sexual harassment in the workplace, treat all incidents seriously and promptly investigate all allegations of sexual harassment. Any person found to have sexually harassed another will face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal from employment.

All complaints of sexual harassment will be taken seriously and treated with respect and in confidence. No one will be victimized for making such a complaint. We will follow the Employment Act (Law No. 2/2008), the Law on Prevention of sexual Harassment (Law No. 16/2014) and the Regulation on prevention of sexual Harassment (No: 2014/R-377).

Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI) Policy

Our Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI) policy rests on the pillars of equity, diversity, and inclusion with gender as a key area of focus. Our policy is anchored in three (3) principles and commitments;

  1. Build an inclusive workplace
  2. Inclusion and representation within all initiatives
  3. Strengthen a safe and secure workplace

Environmental Policy

As we embark on developing business leaders and developing the capacity of institutions and individuals, we would like to contribute to preserving the environment by practicing and promoting environmentally friendly measures. In this regard we have undertaken measures to reduce energy and consumption by using recycled and ‘green’ products. We also provide information to the participants of our programs on preservation of environment, environmental challenges and importance of sustainability reporting etc.

Our Environmental priorities:

  • Develop and maintain environmental management programs with objectives and targets to minimize adverse environmental impacts.
  • Committed to efficient and prudent use of resources, and compliance with applicable legal and other requirements which relate to our environmental aspects.
  • Provide all institute staff with the knowledge and tools needed to meet the goals of this policy and to actively participate in efforts to prevent negative environmental impacts.
  • Dedicated to continual improvement of our environmental performance and the prevention of pollution.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations will have to be made 24 hours prior to the programme. No cancellations will be accepted on the day of the event and full payment will have to be made under these circumstances for such cancellations. However, an alternate representative can be nominated if the registered participant is unable to attend.

CSR Commitments

We support national development initiatives and empower new graduates, island and marginalized communities by developing their technical knowledge and skills through our financial literacy and capacity development programs. These programs are conducted completely on pro-bono basis. Through our CSR initiatives, we strive to support young women and men to be productive and economically empowered to contribute to the development of Maldives.
